In what may be the largest M&A deal in Asia this year, Hong Kong and Shanghai dual-listed China COSCO has made a US$4.6 billion acquisition of the world's largest bulk carrier fleet. Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker advised COSCO on the acquisition of the fleet from its parent company, China Ocean Shipping (Group).
