China’s legal market continues to attract high-end, complicated and multi jurisdictional work and in Beijing this month, the China Law & Practice awards will reflect the complexities and challenges. Chris Bisogni and Joanna Law provide a summary of the deals and firms that made the 2008 shortlist.

China’s legal industry is a fast developing and ever changing market which require law firms to keep up to speed with the latest developments. Many deals are large in size but as new demands and approaches are introduced so too are the challenges for the practitioners.
For many legal deals the words “biggest” or “largest” are often used in order to measure their impact. At the 2nd annual China Law & Practice’s awards which will to be held in Beijing this month, the true measure of the deal will be how pioneering they have been in the market. This year’s China Law & Practice awards are based on one word: innovation.
