What are the key responsibilities of your role within Legal and Compliance, and how does this fit in with the rest of the legal function at UBS?

I am responsible for fixed income derivatives transactions relating to China and Taiwan and I advise on the legal and regulatory aspects of proposed derivatives deals and prepare and negotiate documentation with clients. Also, given that Chinese regulations in relation to derivatives are evolving at a rapid pace, part of my job is to keep abreast of those legal/regulatory developments and ensure that our businesses are fully apprised of them. The legal function advising UBS Investment Bank in Asia is split into various areas including: products (investment banking, DCM, ECM, traded products) in which I am involved; and corporate and regulatory.
