On September 18, 2008, China Law & Practice, in association with the IFLR 1000, will host its annual China Law & Practice Awards. The awards will cover the leading international and local law firms in China and include the major deals completed over the last 12 months. The Deals of the Year will be based on innovation, market impact and their influence in benefitting to the quality and development of China’s legal landscape. Both the Deals and the Firms of the Year awards are based on perception from firms, market presence and intelligence and will be awarded following four months of independent research, interviews, surveying and market visits.

China Law & Practice will hold its 2nd Annual Awards ceremony at Shangri-la’s Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing, on September 18. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception, followed by a four-course banquet and awards ceremony.

The Awards mark the culmination of our annual research process which, this year, has been undertaken in corporation with the IFLR1000 and draws on research conducted for the Asialaw Profiles 2009. We have canvassed the market to pinpoint the deals and firms leading the market through legal innovation.

Listed below are the nominees for Deal of the Year (in seven different practice areas), International Firm of the Year and PRC Firm of the Year (both in five practice areas). There will be Outstanding Achievement and overall Firm of the Year awards announced on the night.
