China Law & Practice, in association with The American Lawyer, The Asian Lawyer and Legal Week, is inviting nominations for the 11th annual China Law & Practice Awards, where the top lawyers, law firms, and in-house teams in the PRC will gather to celebrate their most stellar achievements of the year.

Complex domestic and cross-border acquisitions and disputes and the increasing need for innovative regulatory solutions with both local and global applicability all make China one of the most vibrant, demanding, and competitive legal environments in the world.

As China’s most renowned ceremony for the legal elite, the China Law & Practice Awards honor the best work in and out of the nation. Across our coverage of practice areas and disciplines we intend to identify the biggest and most important commercial legal matters that involved lawyers and parties in the PRC.

This contest will be open to all firms with offices in mainland China. The nomination deadline is June 23, 2017. Winners will be revealed at a dinner gala held on September 14, 2017 at the Park Hyatt, Beijing.

Please view all entry criteria and templates HERE and submit your nominations HERE.

And as the jurisdiction’s most prestigious and expansive legal awards, the China Law & Practice Awards carry a comprehensive set of Firm of the Year and Lawyer of the Year categories that span the most sought-after areas of expertise. We will also focus on specific transactions and credit all of those involved. Seven deals are up for grabs, including DCM, ECM, Energy, Finance, M&A, Outbound and TMT.

Grand prizes include the Most Innovative Firm of the Year, International Firm of the Year and China Firm of the Year. See the full list of award categories below.

We will also be honoring four In-house Teams of the Year, and invite law firms to make submissions based on exceptional work undertaken by General Counsel and their teams in Asia.

Among the big winners in 2016 were Zhong Lun Law Firm, which scooped the ultimate China Law Firm of the Year award, and Baker & McKenzie, feted the International Law Firm of the Year. Tencent, Anbang, 3M and BNP Paribas were awarded as China’s best in-house legal departments.

All decisions will be made by the editorial staff of China Law & Practice, The Asian Lawyer, The American Lawyer, and Legal Week. ALM’s award-winning publications have long been known for their journalistic merit and absolute commitment to editorial independence and integrity. These awards will fall squarely in that tradition.
