Ministry of Information Industry, Interpretation of the Law Application Concerning the Required Criteria for Operators Providing Domain Name Registration Services Notice

Main contents: The Notice elaborates on the criteria for providing domain name registration services mentioned in Article 12 of the Administration of China Internet Domain Names Procedures. Such criteria include:
-lawful enterprise legal persons or institution legal persons that are registered with the department of industry and commerce administration, and possess the permit to provide ICP services;
- at least 5 technicians and 10 customer service personnel engaged in domain name registration services;
- registered capital of not less than Rmb1 million;
- a good reputation and with special DNS;
- 24-hour customer service hotline;
- security precaution measures for the physical security and anti-hacking of the domain name server; and
- sound security warning, alarm and recovery mechanisms.
