Applicability: The establishment of exhibition and convention companies by companies, enterprises and other economic organizations from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and the Taiwan region shall, mutatis mutandis, be handled in accordance with the Provisions.
Main contents: Except where state provisions stipulate otherwise, the Provisions allow approved foreign-invested exhibition and convention companies to engage in organizing or undertaking all types of economic and technological exhibitions and conventions in China as well as in holding conventions overseas (Article 4). Foreign investors may establish foreign-invested exhibition and convention companies in the form of wholly foreign-owned companies or Sino-foreign equity or cooperative joint venture exhibition and convention companies (Article 5). The foreign investors shall have experience and a history in organizing international fairs, professional exhibitions or international conventions (Article 6).
