The definition for safeguard has been amended, and the maximum duration of a safeguard measure is extended to ten years.

Main contents: Article 7 has been amended to be read as: "Increase in the quantity of an imported product shall mean the absolute increase or the increase relative to the domestic production in the quantity of an imported product. Compliance with the public interest also becomes essential for application of safeguard measures (Article 19). The maximum duration of a safeguard measure or the duration of its extension is now ten years instead of eight years (Article 26).
