O'Melveny & Myers attorneys represented Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, as the managing underwriters in the IPO of China Sunergy, which raised approximately US$108 million on the NASDAQ Global Market. The solar cell manufacturer offered 9.77 million American depository shares (ADS) at US$11 each, including 1.27 million shares to the underwriters to cover over-allotments. Conyers Dill & Pearman advised on the Cayman Islands aspect of the listing, as China Sunergy is incorporated in that jurisdiction. Latham & Watkins advised the issuer.
O'Melveny & Myers also represented UBS as the lead underwriter in Qiao Xing Mobile Communication's US$160 million IPO on the NYSE. The mobile handset manufacturer's majority shareholder, Qiao Xing Universal Telephone, is also a US-listed company trading on the NASDAQ Global Market. Shearman & Stirling advised the issuer.
