Shearman & Sterling represented Huawei Technologies in its participation in Bain Capital Partners's US$2.2 billion acquisition of 3Com Corp, a Massachusetts-based maker of networking hardware and software. Bain Capital Corporation was the buyer, with China-based Huawei Technologies acquiring a minority interest in 3Com and becoming a commercial and strategic partner.
