“Designs” under the Indian law are features of shape, configuration, pattern, ornament or composition of lines or colours applied to any article, two or three dimensional or in both forms, by any industrial process or means. Such designs in a finished article appeal to and are judged solely by the eye. Hence the law places significance with respect to any design on it being applied to any article.
