    Legal comings and goings from greater China and beyond

    A&O, Herbert Smith re-organise top management
    Allen & Overy has promoted Joseph Tse to the role of senior partner for Greater China. Tse will divide his time between Hong Kong and Beijing and work closely with Simon Black, the firm's Mainland China managing partner.

    Tse has been an Allen & Overy partner for 14 years. He is a member of the firm's global loans, leveraged finance, real estate finance and securitisation practices.

    Meanwhile, Herbert Smith has appointed Andrew Tortoishell as its Greater China managing partner.

    Tortoishell, a Hong Kong corporate partner since 1994, will be responsible for overseeing the firm's Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai offices. He will report to Ashley Alder, head of Asia.


    Two new partners for Wang Jing
    Wang Jing & Co has promoted Wang Jianyun and Li Rongcun to its partnership.

    Wang has worked with the firm since 2003, and has been in charge of a team within the corporate and IP group for two years. He has notable experience in dealing with matters relating to the transformation of state-owned enterprises.

    Li is director of the firm's Xiamen office. He specialises in shipping and maritime law, and is experienced in dealing with various shipping-related disputes.
