    More bite for consumer watchdog

    More powers for consumer watchdog
The China Consumers' Association will be allowed to represent consumers in court by the end of 2009.

After amendments are made to the Consumer Protection Law, the powers of the non-profit association will be extended considerably: it may now only represent consumers in informal mediation proceedings.
