    New fund for Daiwa and Quantum Leaps; Energizer exhausts its battery of appeals

    Quantum Leaps in new Asia fund
    Daiwa Securities SMBC Principal Investments Co and Quantum Leaps Corporation have formed a US$300 million Cayman Islands-based growth fund.

    According to press releases, the fund, named Daiwa Quantum Capital, aims to invest in technology-oriented companies with “high growth potential in Asia”. It will provide risk capital for emerging technology companies in China as well as Japan and India, and focus on helping them acquire technologies and management skills from Japan. It will also support Japanese companies' regional expansion plans.
