New website may help enforce judgments

The Supreme People's Court has established a new website which will name losing parties in civil cases who have not paid damages.

The verdicts in 1.44 million cases across the country have yet to be carried out, according to Jiang Bixin, vice-president of the Court. The intention behind the new site appears to be to shame judgment creditors into paying up; it should also inspire more confidence in the Chinese court system.
