Promulgated: April 24 2009
Effective: May 13 2009
Main contents: The Interpretation clarifies issues concerning conclusion of contracts, validity of contracts, performance of contracts, termination of contractual rights and obligations, and liability for breach of contract.
Article 5 states that if a party affixes a fingerprint to the written contract, the people's court shall hold such fingerprint to have the same legal effect as a signature or stamp.
