Investment in compliance awareness is vital

Corruption remains a significant problem for both foreign and local investors in China according to a new report from a specialist risk adviser. And most dangers are internal rather than coming from outside an organisation.

Control Risks' latest China Risks Watch newsletter describes several recent cases in which mainland China business executives and senior local officials were arrested on corruption charges. These include senior members of Guangdong Development Bank, which is 20% owned by Citigroup.
