Llinks Law Offices partner Grant Chen has been appointed commissioner to the board of the issuance examination committee of the Growth Enterprise Market (Gem), China's new junior board. Chen specialises in capital markets, corporate, M&A and restructuring.
The launch of Gem has been eagerly awaited for almost a decade. Activity intensified this year after the securities regulator issued provisional measures for listing on the junior board (深圳证券交易所创业板股票上市规则(征求意见稿)) at the end of March, and Chen's appointment is another sign of the imminent launch of the new market. There are now said to be seven companies awaiting approval for Gem listing, and it has been reported that the regulator may announce the names of the finalists by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, Clare Lu has joined Llinks as a partner and to lead the firm's tax legal service team.
Lu has extensive working experience with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and is a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Chinese Certified Tax Agents Association. She is also vice-chairperson of the Shanghai Bar Association's finance and taxation committee.
