What are the key responsibilities of your role within Legal and Compliance, and how does this fit in with the rest of the legal function at UBS?

Li Lian Khoo, UBSI am responsible for fixed income derivatives transactions relating to China and Taiwan and I advise on the legal and regulatory aspects of proposed derivatives deals and prepare and negotiate documentation with clients. Also, given that Chinese regulations in relation to derivatives are evolving at a rapid pace, part of my job is to keep abreast of those legal/regulatory developments and ensure that our businesses are fully apprised of them. The legal function advising UBS Investment Bank in Asia is split into various areas including: products (investment banking, DCM, ECM, traded products) in which I am involved; and corporate and regulatory.
