    Diageo has acquired a controlling stake in Chengdu Yingsheng Investment Holding. The holding company controls Sichuan ShuiJingFang (Sichuan SJF), a Shanghai Stock Exchange-listed manufacturer of premium Chinese white spirits. There was a subsequent general tender offer for the outstanding shares of Sichuan SJF.

    Freshfields Bruckaus Deringer advised purchaser Diageo. Its team included Asia corporate head Robert Ashworth, Shanghai partner Heiner Braun and Beijing partner Jack Wang. Also acting for Diageo were Slaughter and May and Haiwen & Partners.
