China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has, through its subsidiary Zhen Hua Engineering Company, acquired Friede Goldman United (Friede). Friede is a global offshore drilling rig equipment and design services provider based in the US.
The M&A aspect for CCCC was advised by a Hong Kong-based Freshfields Bruckhaus & Deringer team led by Ng Kay Ian and Connie Carnabucci for intellectual property. The financing for CCCC was provided by HSBC, and the lender was represented also by a Freshfields team led by Hong Kong partner David Winfield. Debevoise & Plimpton and Jackson Walker counselled Friede.
