China New Borun Corporation, a PRC-based producer of edible alcohol, has raised over US$40 million in its initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange. The company is headquartered in Shandong province and it is a producer and distributor of corn-based edible alcohol in China. The lead manager in the transaction was Piper Jaffray, while Cown & Company, Oppenheimer & Co. and Newbridge Securities were co-managers.
A Hong Kong DLA Piper team advised the lead manager and the co-managers. Gene Buttrill led the team that included associates from its Hong Kong and Beijing offices. The underwriters were represented by Commerce & Finance Law Firm on PRC law.
