Sullivan & Cromwell will launch its Hong Kong practice later this year with the hiring of Kay Ian Ng and Gwen Wong, both from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Ng will be resident in the firm's Hong Kong office, while Wong will be resident in the Beijing office.
Ng, who was Freshfields' Hong Kong managing partner, is a corporate specialist with a robust depth of experience on numerous Hong Kong initial public offerings (IPOs). He is qualified to practice law in Hong Kong, England and Wales and Malaysia. Ng is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Wong, a former counsel with Freshfields, is also a corporate specialist focusing her practice in securities offerings, and public and private mergers and acquisitions. She is qualified as a solicitor in both Hong Kong and New South Wales, Australia, and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
