Kirkland & Ellis has thundered into the market by launching a full-service regional practice and Hong Kong law group. From Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, it hired M&A specialist Nicholas Norris, capital markets partner Dominic Tsun, and corporate specialist Li-Chien Wong. US capital markets specialists David Zhang, John Otoshi and Benjamin Su join from Latham & Watkins. Finance specialist Ashley Young and senior associate Douglas Murning join from Allen & Overy.

In addition to these market-changing lateral moves, Kirkland & Ellis has relocated FCPA, securities enforcement and white collar litigation specialist Sam Williamson to the firm's Shanghai office. The firm also transferred tax specialist Angela Russo to its Hong Kong base.
