Joining Ropes & Gray's newly-opened Shanghai office is intellectual property (IP) specialist Geoffrey Lin. He was formerly a partner at Hogan Lovells in Shanghai.
Lin's practice focuses on structuring licensing agreements and technology transfers, along with protecting and enforcing clients' IP rights. He brings his team of lawyers over from Hogan Lovells.
He handled the settlement of the largest IP case in Chinese history and his clients include Apple, Genentech and Becton, among others. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, Lin is a member of the New York State Bar, the California State Bar and the US Patent Bar.
