Certification of Personal Information Protection in Non-Major Data Transfers



On January 3, the Chinese cybersecurity regulator announced draft guidelines for certifying the cross-border transfer for personal information. The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) is asking for opinions from companies and the public regarding this draft until February 3. 

The Measures for the Certification of Personal Information Protection in Overseas Transfers of Personal Information (Draft for Comments) (个人信息出境个人信息保护认证办法 (征求意见稿)) specify the certification requirements for companies to transfer personal information collected in China abroad.
