CFIUS Ordered to Restrict Certain Chinese Investments



The Trump administration has signed a memorandum instructing the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to restrict Chinese investment in certain strategic areas, Reuters reports.

The national security memorandum, known as the “America First Investment Policy," said China is "exploiting U.S. capital and ingenuity to fund and modernize Chinese military, intelligence, and security operations, posing direct threats to United States security."
