U.S. Codifies Reverse CFIUS and Other Restrictions into Law



United States President Donald Trump has passed a defense bill which targets Chinese biotech companies and U.S. outbound investment in Chinese technologies, among others, SCMP reports.

This year’s National Defense Authorization Act (“NDAA”) , a key defense law passed every year, codifies President Biden’s executive order issued more than two years ago restricting U.S. outbound investments into Chinese companies involving artificial intelligence, quantum computing, microelectronics and semiconductors.
